The tulips are arriving soon. :) Yaaaa for spring.

I haven’t logged on here for over a month!  March has been so nuts b/c of Spring Break and then Easter.  I’ve been really busy with school and finishing my senior project, so I got off track with working out and eating well.

But…..I weighed myself today, and I lost 10 lbs!  And I can get into my old jeans which is exciting!  Another 10 lbs and I’ll be another size smaller which would be awesome.  I’m going to try to lose another 10 lbs in the next month and a half…so we’ll see!

Good luck everyone. :)

at least i can come home to a happy dog.

today sucked.  i had to stay up late to work on an interior design project and didn’t get to bed until 5am.

so i wake up, so tired, and attempt to drive to school, avoiding two accidents along the way.  there is this horrible 4-way intersection near my house, and it was my turn to go, and people kept stealing my turn, and i have this jerk behind me honking at me!  that kinda stuff just drives me insane.

anyway…

so i get go class and no one in class has done anything on our projects.  i always, always volunteer to present my ideas first, and of course, my professor has to rip into me and the rest of the class b/c she’s in a bad mood.

sometimes being in a creative field is so hard when you do something that one person could love, another may hate.  it’s all a matter of opinion.  it’s hard to please someone with a creative conceptual design when you are a rational, more technically-oriented person.  if there is a wall with a plumbing chase that’s load-bearing, maybe i should leave that there! lol.  i really don’t like to have to defend leaving in load-bearing walls, despite my ability to take them out and put columns in. ripping down every wall and moving plumbing and electrical and hvac in a 33,000 sq. ft. building would be insanely expensive, not to mention that it still has all the original 1897 gothic victorian mouldings, woodwork, and amazing details that i’d like to keep in tact.  ughhhhhh interior design, you are not my friend right now.

BUT….

i worked out for 50 minutes again today, and i’m still writing down everything i’m eating.  went to the cheesecake factory today, got the luau salad, crap, there’s 800 calories in that thing!  i got the lunch size, so i figure it’s half that, i hope!  the portions are ridiculous.

well, now that i look at it, today really wasn’t that horrible after all.  at least my dog was happy to see me when i got home today. :) hope everyone had a good valentine’s day!

woo hoo.

i’ve lost 7″ in the past two weeks. :) does anyone else notice they lose inches before weight? i haven’t lost many lbs yet, but i always notice how i’m toning up first, then the weight drops.  hmm.

currently obsessed with chickpeas.

i get little obsessions with things, not just food, often.  At one point, I couldn’t pass up buying cool retro lamps at thrift stores.  that was a good investment though, because i have a well lit house now.

anyway, my newest obsession is chickpeas.  i love how they look.  look at a chickpea.  aren’t they beautiful?  i’ve been making chick pea salads to eat if i don’t feel like cooking up some fish or turkey (not a big red meat fan), and it helps get protein into my diet.  i hope someone else is amused with these cute legumes! :)

new to this. :)

so here’s my story: i gained about 40 pounds since 2005 (broke up with boyfriend, got sad, ate food, broke ankle, surgery twice, got sad from that, ate more, got fat).

i’ve started eating healthy, and it actually includes well-rounded meals.  this is all instead of picking at food here and there, skipping meals, or eating one huge meal at 9 or 10pm which is probably a good indicator of my weight gain.  oh! and i’m drinking water, at least 86 ounces a day.

last week, for no real reason, i started a journal to document everything i’m eating.  well, it was definitely an eye opener!  it’s so helpful to see what i’m actually eating!  it really has helped me to not just snack around all day.  my day to day life is never the same, so it has been hard to actually cook, so i’d either go out to restaurants with friends or just eat pasta or something super easy.  i’m spending a little more money on healthy food, lots of veggies, salmon, turkey, stuff like that instead of a bunch of crap.  now i’m cooking and realizing it’s not that hard, and kind of fun. oh, and my stomach hasn’t hurt all week! :)

i started working out too.  i used to work at a curves-like gym in ‘04 and ‘05, and i loved it! loveeed it!  it was just a summer job, but all of the clients were so awesome and it was great to see how we all encouraged each other.  since i’m on a budget now, i can’t really afford to go to a curves or women’s gym, but i do have a stationary bike that i started to ride everyday.  i’m on there for 30-45 minutes going 8 to 12 miles.  i also downloaded some fitness videos from exercisetv.tv which are awesome!  so i started doing those to tone and i definitely notice a difference.

right now, i’m a size 18.  i like to usually stay at a 10 or 12 to feel good about myself, so that’s my goal.  in the past week, i have lost about 5 lbs, 2.5″ off my waist, and an 1″ off my arms!  i can’t believe how just the past week has made me so much more confident. :)
