so here’s my story: i gained about 40 pounds since 2005 (broke up with boyfriend, got sad, ate food, broke ankle, surgery twice, got sad from that, ate more, got fat).
i’ve started eating healthy, and it actually includes well-rounded meals. this is all instead of picking at food here and there, skipping meals, or eating one huge meal at 9 or 10pm which is probably a good indicator of my weight gain. oh! and i’m drinking water, at least 86 ounces a day.
last week, for no real reason, i started a journal to document everything i’m eating. well, it was definitely an eye opener! it’s so helpful to see what i’m actually eating! it really has helped me to not just snack around all day. my day to day life is never the same, so it has been hard to actually cook, so i’d either go out to restaurants with friends or just eat pasta or something super easy. i’m spending a little more money on healthy food, lots of veggies, salmon, turkey, stuff like that instead of a bunch of crap. now i’m cooking and realizing it’s not that hard, and kind of fun. oh, and my stomach hasn’t hurt all week!
i started working out too. i used to work at a curves-like gym in ‘04 and ‘05, and i loved it! loveeed it! it was just a summer job, but all of the clients were so awesome and it was great to see how we all encouraged each other. since i’m on a budget now, i can’t really afford to go to a curves or women’s gym, but i do have a stationary bike that i started to ride everyday. i’m on there for 30-45 minutes going 8 to 12 miles. i also downloaded some fitness videos from exercisetv.tv which are awesome! so i started doing those to tone and i definitely notice a difference.
right now, i’m a size 18. i like to usually stay at a 10 or 12 to feel good about myself, so that’s my goal. in the past week, i have lost about 5 lbs, 2.5″ off my waist, and an 1″ off my arms! i can’t believe how just the past week has made me so much more confident.
